Hi, I'm Corinne - founder of Our First Day.

After more than 12 years working in Early Childhood Education as both an Educator and Centre Manager, I've seen just how important it is to support children, families, and the incredible educators who guide them through the daycare journey.

As a mum of two beautiful boys, I've also experienced firsthand the emotions that come with daycare. The excitement, the nerves, and the hope that your child feels safe, happy, and supported.

During our own daycare transition, I found myself searching for a resource that could help prepare and continue to support my children in a gentle and familiar way, but there was nothing quite like it available.

That experience became the inspiration behind - My First Day.

I wanted to create a personalised storybook that would help families feel more supported, creating a sense of familiarity for children, confidence for parents, and a supportive connection between families and educators throughout the daycare journey.

Using real photos of themselves and their family, realistic daycare environments, and the daily routine, the storybook was thoughtfully designed to help children understand what to expect, build confidence, and feel safe and connected in their daycare environment. I also wanted the language to feel gentle, simple, and age appropriate so children could truly connect with the story.

Having experienced this transition as an educator, centre manager, and parent, I know how significant these early moments can be. When children can recognise their surroundings, understand what comes next, and feel some control over their day, something beautiful happens. They can feel calmer, more confident, and prepared for what's to come.

Because every child deserves to feel at home, wherever they are.
